RULES FOR CROSSING THE BORDER OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION / CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
As a rule, you should arrive at the airport 2.5 hours before the departure time indicated in your ticket. For boarding a flight, you must get through customs inspection. Customs control is arranged in the wing where check-in is carried out at a check-in counter at which you should receive a boarding pass. The number of a check-in counter is displayed on the central panel opposite your flight number. Next, you need to get through the border control, then board an aircraft through a gate which number is indicated in your boarding pass.DUTY FREE IMPORT OF THE FOLLOWING IS PERMITTED:

up to 50 cigars (cigarillos)/200 cigarettes/250 grams of tobacco (persons over 18 years of age);

alcoholic beverages: up to 3 liters(persons over 18 years of age);

the value of imported goods when crossing the border should not exceed 10,000 Euros with total weight of 50 kg or less;
- the value of imported goods when crossing any other borders (railway, road, water) should not exceed 1,500 Euros with total weight of 50 kg or less. IMPORT OF THE FOLLOWING IS NOT PERMITTED:

- Any valuables (jewelry, watches, video equipment, etc.) shall be listed in an import declaration on a mandatory basis, and upon departure the declaration is presented again. Books, CDs, video and audio records can be seized by customs officers to check their contents.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING FOR A TRIP:

raincoat or umbrella for rainy days; in summer, a hat or a bucket hat for protecting from the sun;

for a multi-day trip, the most convenient and utility clothes and shoes (jeans, tracksuit, sneakers, etc.);

when a trip is related to the visiting of any existing churches and monasteries, women need to have a scarf or hat on their heads, clothing should cover their shoulders and knees;

if you do not want to waste your time for a lunch during a stop, take with you the food that don’t spoil easily (especially in summer) and a thermos;
- photo and video camera. Shooting is prohibited inside temples and at the territory of some monasteries (a reminder is placed at the entrance)
RULES FOR ARRIVAL IN RUSSIA

All tourists are advised not to leave their group and wait until other members of the group get through the passport and customs control. Having waited for all members of the group, it is necessary to be registered in a tour guide’s list and then go to the bus.
During the transfer from the airport to a hotel, a tour guide will answer all your questions and tell you the time and place of next meeting where you will receive all the necessary information about the procedure of staying in Russia.

Check-out time in hotels is usually 12:00 p.m. You can leave your baggage in a hotel luggage room. Before a bus arrives you need to pay for any extra services. Upon arrival at the airport, customs control of baggage is immediately carried out. Then you should go to a check-in counter where your flight number is displayed, then you should check in your luggage and get a boarding pass, get through the passport control and fill in a departure registration card. Then you should follow to the departure lounge where you await an announcement to board your flight.MEDICAL ISSUES AND PRECAUTIONS
To receive free medical care, you should call the phone number indicated in your medical policy of an insurance company and provide an operator with the following details: full name of insured person who needs help, policy number and validity period, nature of the assistance required, location of insured and contacts for feedback, then follow the instructions given by operator. If a tourist visits a medical institution without a referral from an insurance company, he/she shall pay for the services at his/her own account.
No mandatory vaccinations are required to visit Russia.
