City sightseeing tour
- Excursion to the first and the oldest Russian settlements in Sakhalin, Korsakov is comfortably located on the shore of the ice-free Aniva Bay, a port city, the “South Gate” of the island. Prigorodnoye Complex is situated 15 km away from the city, the first enterprise of such kind in Russia, which includes a liquefied natural gas plant, an oil export terminal and a port.
During this sightseeing tour, we will get acquainted with the main sights, climb to the viewing deck, and take rest on the coast. -
Return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk
Day 2:
- Departure for an excursion to the city of Nevelsk through Lovetsky Pass, one of the most beautiful passes of our island, photographs taken at the top of this pass will remind you of the beauty of Sakhalin for a long time.
- An interesting journey along the coastline of the Tatar Strait, visiting Iskra Waterfall. Walking on the former seabed and see the breakwater guests who visit us every spring — sea lions.
- Sightseeing tour to the city of Nevelsk with a visit to the Nevelsk Museum of History and Local Lore which will acquaint you with the history of the settlement of Nevelsk District, the Japanese period, as well as with the life of migrants and will return you to the Soviet past era. A master class in thread painting will open up real artists in you.
- Returning to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. On the way you’ll see Salyut Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sakhalin: height of the waterfall is 23 meters.
Day 3:
- Leaving for the excursion to Tikhaya Bay and Klokovsky Waterfall.
About 20 km away from Makarov, in the area of Klokov Cape, there is an unnamed waterfall which is considered the highest one in Sakhalin. The height of the waterfall is 48 meters. - Tikhaya Bay is located on the eastern coast of Sakhalin in Terpeniya Bay which name was given by Ivan Fedorovich Krusenstern, the first Russian explorer. It is not marked on many maps but many Sakhalin residents have already been there. From the west, the bay is covered by the spurs of one of the most beautiful ridges in the south of Sakhalin, Zhdanko. On the way to the bay, we will make a stop at Vzmorye and see the ruins of the Japanese temple, Tori Gate, “CockRoost”; there is also a Japanese school pavilion (hyoanden), one of the few that has survived from the time of Karafuto in Sakhalin,and on the way back we will look for amber on the seashore in Starodubskoye.
Day 4:
- Bykovskie Rapids. A journey to the once full-flowing waterfall, and now to the grandiose rapids hidden in the taiga, on Krasnoyarka River, where you will see not only cascades of falling water but also monumental coastal protection structures, beautiful panoramas of Bykov Village and,with a little luck, you will find ancient shells sleeping in stones for more than 70 million years.
Day 5:
- Excursion to the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Zoo where you’ll see bears, foxes, a lion, a tiger, ostriches and many other animals and not only the inhabitants of the Sakhalin taiga.
- Walking in Gagarin Park. Rope Town.
- Excursion to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Museum of Local Lore (or the memorial “Victory”, or “My Russia” at your choice), quest
Day 6:
- Breakfast at hotel, checking-out;
