Morning arrival to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Meeting. (snack in a bus: tea and pie).
- Leaving for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk sightseeing tour. During this tour, you will be able to feel the unique intertwining of culture, history and human lives of the two great states, Russia and Japan. You will learn how the largest city of the largest island of the largest country was built, you will understand why it is impossible to get lost in this city and why the layout of the city was reproduced from the map of Chicago. You will feel the influence of Japanese culture on the city, you will learn some unknown facts about the Japanese period, Karafuto (1905-1945). You’ll get to know the sights of our city.
- Visiting the Museum of Local Lore, a quest or a master class (the theme to be specified when ordering).
Day 2:
- Departure for an excursion to the city of Nevelsk through Lovetsky Pass, one of the most beautiful passes of our island, photographs taken at the top of this pass will remind you of the beauty of Sakhalin for a long time.
- An interesting journey along the coastline of the Tatar Strait, visiting Iskra Waterfall. Walking on the former seabed and see the breakwater guests who visit us every spring.
- Sightseeing tour to the city of Nevelsk with a visit to the Nevelsk Museum of History and Local Lore which will acquaint you with the history of the settlement of Nevelsk District, the Japanese period, as well as with the life of migrants and will return you to the Soviet past era. A master class in thread painting will open up real artists in you.
- Returning through the city of Kholmsk, on the way you’ll see Salyut Waterfall (23 meters), passing through the Kholmsky Pass, visiting the memorial to those who perished during the liberation Mayok City (Kholmsk) in 1945.
Day 3: KORSAKOV, PRIGORODNOYE, NOVIKOVO, RED DEER FARM
- Departure for an excursion to the port city of Korsakov with a visit to the municipal museum of local lore (with an excursion in the museum) and local attractions such as the viewing deck, monument to Novik Cruiser in the southern port.
- Then a trip to Prigorodnoye with a visit to particular objects of the antiamphibious company defensive unit “Mereysky Beach” (Japan, 1945). History of relations between Japan and Russia (XIX-XXI centuries). Treaties of 1855, 1875. Russian military posts: Muravyevsky / Korsakovsky posts. The Russo-Japanese War, the capture of southern Sakhalin by Japan, the period of Karafuto’s governorship in 1905-1945; the Soviet-Japanese War in 1945; Liberation of southern Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.

Day 4: EXCURSION TO TIKHAYA BAY
- Departure for the excursion to Tikhaya Bay with a visit to the old Japanese village of Sokol, Tori Gate in Vzmorye.
Tikhaya Bay is located on the eastern coast of Sakhalin in Terpeniya Bay which name was given by Ivan Fedorovich Krusenstern, the first Russian explorer. It is not marked on many maps but many Sakhalin residents have already been there. From the west, the bay is covered by the spurs of one of the most beautiful ridges in the south of Sakhalin, Zhdanko. On the way to the bay, we will make a stop at Vzmorye and see the ruins of the Japanese temple, Tori Gate, “Cock Roost”, and on the way back we will look for amber on the seashore in Starodubskoye
Day 5: SINEGORSK, CITY MALL
- Departure for excursion to Sinegorsk. A new excursion to the village of Sinegorsk where the Kawakami mine was opened in 1918. Here, in the mine, recruited Korean people worked. You will hear about their life and fate in the museum where you will be introduced to a unique collection of Koreans’ everyday life during the Japanese occupation, that the former residents of Kawakami helped to create. Participation in a clay toy master class will leave pleasant memories for a long time.
- Leaving to the City Mall Shopping and Entertainment Center.
Day 6: WIND TUNNEL, MUSEUM OF A. P. CHEKHOV’S BOOKS
